The Ten Commandments are probably the world’s most recognizable ancient text. Yet few of us can name all ten, and fewer still can say what they’re really trying to teach us. This talk will take us on a journey through the Ten Commandments, unlocking their original meaning and revealing the radical approach to life they embody—an approach that makes them just as relevant today as when they first appeared.

On Tuesday at around 6:00pm in NY (depending on visibility if its cloudy or not) we will be able to watch Venus go across the Sun. This will not happen again in our lifetime as the next transit will be in over 100 years from now.
We will be getting together for the viewing at 4211 Ocean Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11235 (in manhattan beach) @ Dr. Rabbi Henry Hasson’s house. The hourly forecast currently shows that it will go from partly cloudy to fully cloudy at around 4pm. We will be able to see the sun from 6:00pm to 7:20pm from this location. Hopefully we will get a break in the clouds/ rain during that time and have at least a brief window to see the sun.
Please join us for this historical viewing and explanation of what is happening! We will be discussing the very important historical, scientific, religious, and philosophical issues regarding the transit of Venus. It is a great opportunity to get a better understanding of God’s universe and praise and appreciate His creations.
Proper solar filters will be provided so one can look at the sun safely. No one should ever look at the sun without the popper filter as it is very damaging to your eyes.
Lets hope the weather cooperates.
Feel free to share this information with others who may be interested.

the Annual Passover Deliveries at Tanger Hillel at Brooklyn College will be held on Sunday, April 1, 10am-4pm. This program is organized every year and brings together the Jewish Community before Passover. Two weeks before the holiday students work tirelessly to carefully assemble food packages. Once the packages are prepared, volunteer teams distribute the food packages to over 400 families. The recipients of the Passover food packages are always happy to see volunteers and often invite them up for tea, or just to talk. This is guaranteed to bring a lot of smiles to both participants and recipients.
Most of the package recipients are the elderly in Brighton Beach- it is a profoundly moving and rewarding experience.
Meetup at 9:45 in front of Brooklyn College Hillel. Participants can stay for as long as they are available.

Rosh Chodesh Nissan — the first day of Nissan — is one of the most significant days in Jewish history. It was then, in Egypt, that God gave the first mitzvah to the Jewish people — the mitzvah of declaring the new moon and sanctifying the new month. For 2,448 years, God did so Himself, but now He entrusted the honor and responsibility to the Jewish people.
Why is this mitzvah so significant? Because it shows that we have the ability (and responsibility) to sanctify our lives and the passage of time. With this power to change and determine physical reality, we thereby become partners in the ongoing process of creation.
So ladies what’s a better way to show this change then to tap into the spiritual energy thru the help of Yoga and a true Detox program recommendation! We have an amazing Yoga teacher lined up and then Susan London will take you through the Clean Program (the most effective Detox programs on the market).
PLEASE RSVP ON FB HERE
